The Future of Food Waste in Utah
Presented by: Lydia Keenan and Elizabeth Barret, Wasatch Resource Recovery
Wasatch Resource Recovery was awarded grant funds from Intermountain Healthcare to launch a residential food waste collection pilot program. Working with Momentum Recycling and Recyclops to divert household food waste to WRR where it is converted into renewable natural gas and fertilizer using anaerobic digestion. We will share the results of the Pilot programs, identify successes and missteps, and provide a look into the future of food waste collection along the Wasatch Front and the greater state of Utah.
