For Community, By Community, In Community: Resilience Hubs as the Foundation for Thriving
Presented by: Baja, Executive Director of Resilience Hub Collaborative
True resilience isn’t developed during a storm; it’s grown and cultivated in the in-between moments of daily life. The Resilience Hub Collaborative is made up of hundreds of community leaders transforming community-serving facilities into "third spaces" rooted in belonging and collective care. This keynote will explore the history, development, and best practices of Resilience Hubs across North America and explain how Hubs foster a culture of thriving— improving daily quality of life through shared resources, proactive relationship building, mutual aid, and deep social connection. It will move beyond conventional disaster planning and emergency response to demonstrate that by prioritizing daily community needs—from food security to cross-generational learning—Resilience Hubs can become the foundation of a new kind of sustainability: one that is built on the strength of community relationships and proactive community collaboration.
